This is about as close as you can get to a "barn find" vehicle that you will ever
see. It's getting harder and harder to purchase clean unrestored cars which show
there true value. This '55 Chevy 2 door post is an amazingly rust free car with a
super straight body. I tried taking as many pictures as possible highlighting the
good and the not so good. The great thing about this great American Classic is
that it keeps going up in value everyday.

I bought this sweet Chevy with the idea of keeping it forever, but painfully must
part ways with it. I approached the project by fixing the mechanical issues first. I
bought a rebuilt 350 from a friend of my neighbors. My neighbor Larry is a Chevy
fanatic, he owns a '50 Chevy 5-window truck, a '64 2-door Impala, a '50 2-door
sedan to name a few and none of them are for sale. I had Larry  install the 350 for
me with hours of loving care. The Engine starts by barely turning the key thanks to
Larry and the  Mallory electronic ignition and new Edlebrook carb. Larry built
custom motor mounts which make the Engine sit and fit perfectly. The radiator was
completely redone and has all new hoses. Larry also re-did the complete brake
system including new shoes, wheel cylinders, brake lines and had the drums
turned. I also had the 350 Automatic transmission completely rebuilt by another
friend of Larry's which he installed. Larry and his friends are all semi-retired and
only do this for the love of Chevy's and friends so I did not receive any receipts for
the work or parts. The tires are brand new mounted on rare Chevy Rally wheels
with original center caps and cool beauty rings. This Chev has dual exhaust and
sounds incredible, it's not too loud, but has a great deep rumble, with just a little
rap if you hit it just right. The electrical works well too, headlights, tail lights, and
turn signals all work. It even has an older AM/FM Cassette that sounds pretty
good. I wasn't able to check the brake lights, but I do know that the wipers and
horn don't work. I was amazed that the interior light works when you open the door.

You can essentially hop in this car and start driving it right away. It has an great
patina finish and really turns heads anywhere it goes. The great thing about this
classic Chevy is that what you see is what you get. It has not been primered or
painted over covering rust or body damage. Yes, the interior is rough, but you can
have it redone your way, to your taste, and know that its been done right. All the
glass is in good shape except the drivers side door glass which is cracked. All the
windows roll up and down smoothly and look really cool when they're down. I tried
to take pictures showing that there is no rust in the floors, rockers, inner fender
wells, or trunk, amazing.

I grew up in a small farming community driving a Volkswagen bug.  The truly cool
kids in school drove Hot rods, including a kid nicknamed "Pecker" who drove a '55
Chevy. Pecker was the coolest and I always envied him alittle bit. Seemed like
every body else in high school had dates Friday night... I didn't have a date till I
was 21. Hee-hee...Maybe it was the Bug ??? My dream car has always been a '55
Chevy 2 door, now it can be your dream, turned into reality. I've tried to make it
affordable, so that the person who never thought that they could buy one, could
purchase this excellent vehicle and with a little bit of elbow grease build the next
fifty thousand dollar show car.
