

59 is Fine!!!
Help celebrate this amazing bugs 50th birthday. As close to a barn find as
you'll ever find. This bug was last registered in 1988. If you do the math, it's
like buying a 50 year old body with only 30 years worth of wear. Kinda like me
only in better shape.
I thought about doing a complete restoration, but the patina was just way to
cool. Anybody can have shiny paint. This the perfect daily original style
driver or it could be lowered and turned into the ultimate rat rod.
My first objective was to see how it ran. I put a new ignition switch in it, new
6 volt battery, changed the oil, turned it over 20 or so times to pump up the
oil and then primed the carb with gas. It literally fired on the second or third
kick. A little cough, a little sputter and a puff of smoke and then it ran like
nobody's business.
