Too cool for school, this bus is just too much fun. At any given time, I might have a
couple of split window buses, a few restored bay window Westfalias, and a bug or
two. People always walk right by everything and go straight to the flat black,
custom pin-striped rat bus and want to know all about it. They love the red wheels
with the white wall tires, stickers from times past, and the funky old roof rack. I tell
them that there's not much too it, other than something that I always wanted to do:
Build a rat rod style VW van with a sunroof, that you can haul your friends around,
get all kinds of crazy looks, and not have to worry about door dings. This is it, the
one and only Rat bus, brought to you live from Joe's Cool Cars Inc.

The front seats have been professionally recovered, while the rest of interior is a
little rough around the edges.  Nothing that a couple of cool, colorful, Mexican
blankets can't dress-up. The sun roof is factory, but the cable/crank mechanism is
goofed-up, so you have to slide it back and forth by hand. I haven't had it in any
severe weather, but under normal rainy conditions it doesn't seem to leak at all.
The motor is a straight 1600 single-port which was rebuilt a few years ago. Of
course I didn't get any paperwork with it, but it runs like a top. It  just had a major
tune-up with new points, plugs and condensor. The valves were adjusted and the
compression is between 120 and 125 pounds. The tranny shifts smooth and the
brakes feel great.

I should also mention that the wheels were powder coated red rather than just
painted. The same thing with the silver/gunmetal grey bumpers and deluxe trim
which were powder coated as well. The deluxe trim is held on with upholstery style
screws and washers to give it that rat look. Powder coating is a very durable finish
and looks really sharp.

The front windshield, windshield seal, and wipers are all new too. All the electrical
works as it should; wipers, horn, turn-signals, headlights and brake lights. This
bus also has working door locks with keys.

This bus is in pretty original condition all the way around other than the too hip
paint job and pin-striping. If you have any questions feel free too ask and if you're
local and serious come on by for a personal showing. Check-out my new web-site
at www.joescoolcars.com. This bus is priced very reasonably and should provide
its new owner with tons of fun. It will make you the coolest kid on the block,
whether you're 16 or 60. Have fun bidding and peace on earth.
