1977 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon DELUXE
|
Oh boy, spring is just around the corner. There are buds on the branches ,and
flowers are about to bloom. I can here birds chirping , the air smells fresh, and the
temperature is getting warmer everyday. Time to dust off the ol' Vw bus and take
her for a spin. Wait a minute, you don't have a VW bus yet,? Well now is your
chance to own a piece of history. Something that you can enjoy driving around and
showing off to friends, family and perfect strangers....
Have you seen a more beautiful Westfalia Van ? This is the deluxe version with
the stove, sink, and electric fridge.. It has the full pop-top with a newer canvas.
You can sleep two upstairs and two on the fold out bench downstairs. As you can
see in the pictures, the stove and faucet work, but I'm not sure about the fridge.
The upholstry is in great condition through out, but the wood veneer on the
cabinets is a little chipped here and there. I would consider this normal wear for a
bus this age. It's amazing just how much cupboard and storage space these
Westys have.
The body is in excellent condition and is absolutely rust free. It is painted a bright
white two tone with the original Sage green body. This is the most popular color
combination going. Everything works; horn, lights, wipers , blinkersect... There is a
great Blaupunkt CD player which sounds really nice. The tires are brand new
Goodyear Radials with a sweet European tread design. The transaxle shifts well
and the brakes are like new all the way around. The front end is very tight and
doesn't clunk or wander.
The engine is a 2 litre fuel injected 4 cylinder that was rebuilt and has under
5000 miles on it. She runs like dream, the previous owner was very meticulous and
replaced everything including the clutch when he had the motor rebuilt. If you look
at the pictures you'll see a stack of receipts , the row on the left all relate to the
rebuild. Nice !
This Westy comes with a full set of factory curtains including the hard to find front
windshield privacy curtain. It also includes the original child cot and the rear bug
screen. The factory heater actually works as well. How about the way cool door
panels and custom tapestry on the headliner. I believe that the paneling is good
underneath if you wanted to remove the fabric ,and a set of factory door panels
are just under a $100.0 from Wolfsberg West if you wanted to go back to stock.
It's getting late and I want to get this listed. If you have any more questions, feel
free to ask . If your local and serious you're welcome to set up a viewing. As
well as this bus runs and drives it's still a 41 year old vehicle, I recommend that
whoever is the lucky high bidder have it shipped to its new home. I can get very
competitive rates and would be happy to help with the shipping arrangements.
With that said, it's time to say farewell and good luck bidding... Lets go camping...
Peace, love, and happiness !!!
