Like the old song; "Love is just around the corner", so it goes that Spring
is just around corner as well. Soon there will be buds on the branches, and
flowers about to bloom. I can almost hear birds chirping, the air is
beginning to smell fresh, and the temperature will soon be getting warmer
everyday. Time to dust off the ol' VW bus and take her for a spin. Wait a
minute, you don't have a VW bus yet? Well now is your chance to own a
piece of history. Something that you can enjoy driving around and showing
off to friends, family and perfect strangers....
Have you seen a more beautiful Westfalia Van? This version includes a
working sink and built-in ice box. It has the full 3-window pop-top with a
newer canvas. You can sleep two upstairs and two on the fold out bench
seat downstairs. As you can see in the pictures, the faucet works as it
should and I'm including a portable two-burner propane stove along with
lots of extra camping equipment. The upholstery is in good condition
through out, but the original wood veneer on the paneling is worn here
and there. I would consider this normal wear for a bus this age. It's amazing
just how much cupboard and storage space these Westys have.
The body is in excellent condition and is absolutely rust free. It is painted a
bright white two tone with the original Sage green body. This is the most
popular color combination going. Everything works; horn, lights, wipers,
blinkers etc... There is a great Kenwood CD player which sounds really
nice. The tires are brand new white-wall Radials with a great All-Season
tread design. The trans axle shifts well and the brakes are like new all the
way around. The front end is very tight and doesn't clunk or wander.
The engine is a 2-litre fuel injected 4-cylinder that was rebuilt around
20,000 miles ago. She runs like dream. The previous owner was very
meticulous and careful to do routine maintenance as needed. If you look at
the pictures you'll see just how clean the engine is. Unfortunately, I did not
receive receipts for the rebuild. This bus has several options which
enhance the drivability and make it road trip ready. From the external oil
cooler, the tachometer, oil temperature and pressure gauges, to the gas
heater and auxiliary deep cycle battery this van has been well thought out.
All these extras add to the comfort, dependability and longevity of this
fantastic camper van.
This Westy comes with a full set of factory curtains including the hard to
find front windshield privacy curtain. It also includes the original child cot
and the rear bug screen. The factory heater actually works great. The van
also includes a professionally installed gas heater, which works incredibly
well. Gas heaters can be quite costly to purchase and install, which makes
this a fantastic accessory. The front door panels are presentable, but the
passenger side is somewhat weathered. A set of factory door panels are
just under a $100.00 from Wolfsberg West if you wanted to replace them.
The interior has a very clean and comfortable feel to it.
