Time to get this party started, grab the boards, load up the crew, and
head for the hills. Lets go boarding or skiing, this Syncro Vanagon is
ready for anything. What an amazing vehicle. Volkswagen was so ahead of
it's time when they produced these Syncro Vanagons. To have a four
wheel drive vehicle that would haul seven people comfortably, get good
gas mileage, and you that could sleep in was unheard of back then. Heck,
I'm not sure if there's anything like it today.
This is a 1986 Syncro with a stack of service records going back to almost
new. It has brand new BF Goodrich tires mounted on factory Vanagon
Alloys. The engine has just been serviced and runs great. The
transmission shifts smooth and doesn't pop or grind in any gears. The
four wheel drive system works perfectly. All the electrical works great
and it has a new battery. The stereo and speakers have been up-dated
with a Sony face-off CD player which allows you to plug your I-pod into for
a great sound experience.
The interior is all original and looks like new. The rear bench seat folds
into a bed easily and I will include a homemade set of curtains for privacy.
I did have the van painted its original color, because the paint had faded
slightly.There was very little bodywork involved, as a matter of fact, you
may see some small dents in the pictures. The paint looks fantastic
especially with the cool body stripe and Syncro decals.
I have really enjoyed cruising this van around, listening to music, and
getting into the Vanagon groove. This is a very versatile vehicle, that is
practical and looks very impressive. I think that the pictures pretty much
