1991 Volkswagen : Bus/Vanagon Wolfsberg |
Too cool for school...
This is about as groovy and sharp of a Volkswagen Vanagon as you will
ever see. Ready for surfing,snowboarding, concerts, or hauling the family
to the park...It's amazing the looks and attention this van gets everywhere
it goes.
1991 was the last year for the Vanagon, which are getting harder and
harder to find, especially in such great condition. This is the rare
Weekender Carat edition with a rebuilt Automatic transmission and
includes a 12 month or 12,000 mile warranty. I have cruised many buses and
Vanagons in my time but this one really takes the cake. The Carat edition
has power locks and windows along with cruise control that actually works!
The rebuilt Automatic trans axle feels great. I was told that the 4 cylinder
2.1 liter motor was rebuilt around 50,000 miles ago but unfortunately I did
not receive any paperwork. It doesn't leak oil or coolant. It does have 110
to 115 pounds of compression and has just had a major tune-up and oil
change. The front end is tight and doesn't wander or clunk. The brakes are
great and don't pull or grind. All the electrical works including; headlights,
taillights, turn signals, horn, heater, interior lights, wipers, and even the
windshield washer. The whole van just feels tight and true driving down
the road, with plenty of power and confidence.
This rust free and straight Vanagon was repainted the rare factory red
color so it looks fantastic. The interior is in excellent condition and looks to
have been very well taken care of. It's amazing how nice the seat
upholstery, dash, side panels and headliner look. It's just so clean inside
and out you will want to drive it or just hang out in it for fun!
What makes this weekender edition so desirable is the fact that it's so
versatile. You can comfortably haul 7 people around and you can convert
the rear bench seat into a comfortable bed. I'm not sure if 7 people could
sleep on it, but hey ya never know. You also have the fold out table ready
at any time for eating or playing cards. As you can see in the pictures, it
also includes factory curtains for extra privacy. You can easily remove the
rear facing jump seats to give the van extra room for carrying larger items.
This particular van came with some nice options and up grades including
A/C, custom chrome 17" wheels with new tires, power windows and locks,
and Kenwood CD Player. It also includes professionally tinted windows,
which really sets the van apart. The factory A/C is missing the belt and a
hose so it is not working at this time. It could be hooked up and charged
fairly easily though if that's something you want to do. Other than that this
is an all around wonderful Vanagon ready to bring its lucky new owner
plenty of fun and enjoyment.
